OAR

Opportunities, Alternatives & Resources (OAR) of Fairfax County, Inc. is a local non-profit restorative justice organization providing human services since 1971. OAR aims to: Develop, promote, and operate community-based programs that provide Opportunities, Alternatives, and Resources to restore criminal offenders to productive roles in the community, offer options to prosecution and/or incarceration, and support families. Encourage active citizen involvement in the restorative process through the use of volunteers and presentation of educational programs about the criminal justice system

OAR of Fairfax County, Inc. produces a booklet called Handling the Crisis. This booklet is particularly helpful to the families of the incarcerated. It deals with the Adult Detention Center and the Fairfax County Court system. The intern would be responsible for updating this booklet. This project would involve researching to find the appropriate sources to update each section.
