Hispanics Against Child Abuse & Neglect

Small, Fairfax based non-profit seeks motivated, independent graduate intern to assist in researching grant opportunities and take-charge of grant-writing duties. Most work can be done from home, visiting the office for consulting, brainstorming and review. No specific grant-writing experience required - We can learn together. In addition to grant writing, we appreciate occasional help with quarterly newsletters, web content, and press releases. Hispanics Against Child Abuse & Neglect is a non-profit organization formed in 1985 to assist local agencies with the prevention of child abuse and neglect in the Hispanic/Latino community. Our goal is to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect through cultural competent education, intervention, and community advocacy with focus on the Hispanic/Latino community. Our main 2 programs are Fortaleciendo La Familia, culturally sensitive, Spanish language parenting classes, and Morning Star, a program to develop the self-esteem of young girls and to teach them the leadership skills that will empower them to dream big and reach high to achieve their goals.
