Job Title: Intern Editor / Writer

1. Background

Bread and Water for Africa, an affiliate of CRSC, is working with established African charitable programs - leaders in the field. Its mission is to promote positive change in Africa by supporting and strengthening grassroots initiatives for community self-sufficiency, health and education.

2. Purpose

Writing and editing for Christian Relief Services Charities' affiliates: Bread and Water for Africa (US); and, in France, Pain et Eau pour l'Afrique; and, in the United Kingdom, Bread and Water for Africa UK.

3. Responsibilities include the following: to research, write, edit, annual reports, websites, direct mail fundraising appeals and newsletters.

4. Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to write and communicate well with culturally diverse African, American and British audiences (and French)
  • Ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously and to effectively prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Fluency in English (French too would be great but not necessary).
